Oh...you wouldn't believe the excuses I have heard from my students (I teach at a community college). But then I had to wonder about the computer-related excuses when my computer actually went on the blink a couple of weeks ago!
You know, that doesn't surprise me. It's a different world and being "responsible" means something different today. It still brought a smile at the creativity! Hope you're doing well. We'll do dinner when we get back!
Student walking in the last 10 minutes of my class: "I forgot we had class today."
Me: "You mean the class we have every Monday and Wednesday at 10 am--you mean that class?"
Student: "Yeah, that class. I forgot."
Me: "Wow."
I believe you. I do. The best excuse I received this semester: "My sister got a good grade on it so I thought I would too." The same student said, "I didn't know I had to show up for the final." Sigh. ~Kelly
