DO THESE SHOES MATCH MY OUTFIT? Good because I am wearing them...it is one of those mornings when you need something OUTRAGEOUS to look at...and I am off to town...yes in these shoes! One nice thing I have found about aging is you don't care as much about the stares people give you!

TABLE TOPPERS
This is the original wall hanging/table topper I designed with red and yellow. It was so bright and cheerful, however, Quick Quilts wanted a pastel-spring version. When they asked if I could do it in pastels I thought to myself...."NO!" But when they sent my the beautiful pastel fabrics called, Nana's Garden by Arlene Neely of Rabbits Haven for Red Rooster, I couldn't resist.Saturday, February 20, 2010
SOME PROFOUND WORDS
This list was given by an older woman to a younger women who had just moved to Minnesota with her husband to start their first job after being in Arizona for grad school. I thought it applied to any who live in long winters....and then to everyone else.
1. Laugh and smile at least once every day
2. Learn something new. Marjorie Hinckley said, “Develop intellectual curiosity.”
3. Get adequate rest even if you have to give up something else and take a nap. Five hours a night is not enough.
4. Exercise enough to sweat….not necessarily to loose weight.
5. Feed your body with healthy food
6. Feed your spirit with healthy words
7. Count your blessings often. Keep a blessing journal and write things down. Sometimes we ignore the small things.
8. Offer a daily prayer with real intent.
9. Find something you were meant to do here on earth and do it. Pursue it and find joy in it.

MY SON'S BIRTHDAY QUILT
For my son's 30th birthday (wow, where did that time go?) I made him a queen size quilt for his bed. It is all dark, blues, greens, browns and black.
The crazy part is I didn't have to buy any fabric except the borders and the back. The borders cost as much as the back, as I got the backing piece 50% off....boy I love that! The best part is while you are sewing for someone else, you think about them all the time you are sewing! My son is a great person, very personable, very friendly, very talented and is cute with his kids....LOVE YOU SON!Wednesday, February 17, 2010
WOMEN ARE FLEXIBLE
My friend emailed me this and I laughed so hard....it is true, women are flexible!
Women are angels
and when someone breaks our wings
we simply continue to fly...
on a broomstick
because
WOMEN ARE FLEXIBLE!

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HERE I COME
Please notice the tape....I have this picture taped on the wall above my computer...year round, but it is especially nice to see during the winter. I don't necessarily like to be in the salt water, but I like to go to the beach and be in the sunshine. I love the little beach cities in Southern California, Newport, Balboa, Laguna Beach...Catalina....and I am happy to say I am going to see my sister for a few (too few actually) days this week. I must be back for the 14th as it is my son's 30th birthday and we are having a big family dinner party. But, a few days in the sun will sure cheer me up! (Hopefully there will be sun...they have had a lot of rain.) Either way, rain or shine, it will be green, plus there are a few new quilt shops we need to visit! Good thing I don't need to try to fit into a swimming suit or get a tan! Age does have a few advantages!

VALENTINE GIVE AWAY
Valentine's Day has always been my favorite holiday, so I thought I would have a Valentine's Day give away. I always wonder who is going to win the give away.....it would be so nice for everyone to receive a "give away" gift. Monday, February 1, 2010
