MOPPING

Do any of you mop like this?
Or do you mop like this? This is me. I don't know why....thinking back, I don't ever remember seeing my mom mopping the floors on her hands and knees...I must have learned it somewhere because this is how I have mopped my whole life...anyway. I like to walk barefooted on a clean mopped floor, they are so smooth. I like it just about as much as I like clean fresh sheets!

Definitely hands and knees. My mom did it that way, too. No messy mop to store. You can get all the corners and not miss a spot that way. Come to think of it, my mom did have a much smaller kitchen than I do.

I'm the second one too. So was my mom.

I used to be hands and knees. It was faster! Especially in small rooms. Now, my back is too bad to do any mopping at all....luckily my boys excel at it, but they put their foot down at not using a mop. I'm in no position to refuse whatever help I get, lol!

I have a swiffer mop that I put a wash cloth on and then rinse in the sink. Only on occations do I get down on my hands and knees.

My mom was always a hands and knees mopper and I did the same until we moved into our new house that had too big and kitchen and too many linoleum floors to do. I recently got a steam mop and am trying to adapt.

OMG me too! Washing my floors on my hands and knees i learned from my German grandmother. She said you need to see where the dirt is and get it gone. I use a water and white vinegar solution on my tile and my bamboo floors. I am more neurotic about my floors than i am about having books, mags, and papers lying around.

OMG i love clean floors too and i always wash them on my hands and knees with knee pads for comfort (i use volleyball pads). My German grandmother always said that is how one sees where the dirt and grime is - must get up close and personal.
Yup, sheets, floors, and maybe the toilet. Those are my fussy areas, however, i am not fussy about having lots of books, mags, and art stuff around.
