So much for Spring.....we have rain and sleet, so I stayed inside and made dolls and little quilts today.

I love this beautiful dark fabric from Marcus Brothers by Judie Rothermel isn't this brown just so beautiful? It is from the Vicksburg collection. You can see all of Judie's fabrics on Marcus Brothers site, you can also buy them at the Fat Quarter shop click on Marcus Brothers on the left, then click the little box of Vicksburg, or Sturbridge Village Calicos.
This gold one is from the Sturbridge Village Calicos, I LOVE IT! I love it so much I used it in the major quilt for my book with Kansas City Star Publishing Co. due out in Sept. 2009.
Isn't this red the greatest red? I wish I had a HUGH picture of it, sorry.... It is also from the Sturbridge Calicos.
Sometimes when I find a great red, I buy 2-3 yards of it. Do you ever do that? Hope your sewing day was great!

Lora will love your dolls. They are so cute. I'm sorry it was raining/sleeting. But nice that you could sew. I have found some great reds I like and I was sorry I hadn't gotten more.
What a perfect way to spend the day!
Those fabrics are gorgeous...such rich colors!
I was there is Rexburg for your rain and sleet! The kids and I went to visit my sister for the night. We ate papa Purphy's for dinner, watched a movie and visited stores today. I was hoping you had your tabletopper at Porter's, and today when we went there I saw it! My mom will probably be sad she missed out. Oooh, that quilt of yours over there is so adorable. I asked if they had any more of the magazine but they said they ordered 40 copies thinking that would be enough and that they are out! Guess I'm not the only one who wants to make your quilt. :)
We also stopped at the Quilt Shop in Rigby, where the Katie Cupcake lady was frantically getting ready for quilt market next month. I found some adorable polka dot fabric ric rac stuff there. No idea what to do with it, but it was cute enough to get some and decide later!
Thanks so much for the advice on how to get the bench a little darker and distressed! I really have no clue what other people are doing to get there stuff distressed so well, so any info. like that really helps.
I made the mistake of asking my husband if he likes the distressed look and he said no! All my decorating dreams are shattered. We finally decided that my decorating ideas count for 75% and his only get up to 25% so my ideas still win most of the time, but still. I really want to paint and distress the hutch I got at a garage sale a few years ago but he says that would be terrible to paint over the nice (dark, old) wood. He must be behind the times!
I e-mailed you but it came back as not sent! My email is he4rken@yahoo.com.
